Chelsea are ready to recall Christian Atsu from his loan deal at Everton, then send him out on loan again.
The Stamford Bridge club are unhappy with the Toffees over the playing time, or lack of, that he has received at Goodison Park.
Gus Poyet’s Sunderland may offer a better chance of first-team football for Atsu.
Atsu has not exactly endeared himself to either the Everton fans or manager Roberto Martinez, with a string of poor performances when he has been on the field.
A change to Sunderland may suit Atsu better, with more opportunities for game-time at the Stadium of Light.
