His future at Stamford Bridge is in doubt

Chelsea holding midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah is set for the SIXTH loan spell of his career.

The England Under 21 international looks to be on his way to Italy, in order to join up with Serie A side Napoli on a season-long loan.

Chalobah has previously spent time on loan at Watford, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Burnley and Reading.

He made 24 appearances for Reading last season which made him a regular for the England U21s; he started all three of their group games at the Under 21s European Championships this summer.

Chalobah is out-of-favour

The 20-year old defensive midfielder is out-of-favour at the West London Club, especially after his lack of involvement last campaign.

The Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho often opted for other youth prospect and midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who made three appearances in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.

Once his move to Naples is complete, Chalobah will be the 27th Chelsea player to leave the club on loan in this transfer window.
