Atletico Madrid have put forward’s buyout clause up

Chelsea have been informed that in order to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, they’d have to cough up £75million.

The Blues have been long-term admirers of the French forward, but in a bid to keep him at the club, Atletico have upped his buyout clause from £60m to £75m.

Griezmann has been heavily linked with leaving Diego Simeone‘s side in recent months, with Chelsea deemed favourites to land him, but with the transfer speculation failing to go away, officials at the club have acted fast.

The 24-year-old has already netted 15-goals this season for the La Liga outfit, and his incredible form over the past two seasons has caught the eye of Roman Abramovich.

Hunt for Griezmann Continues

Chelsea are believed to be in the market for a new forward, with doubts over Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao, but if they want to land Griezmann, they will have to pay up.

The Premier League champions aren’t the only team interested in the forward either, as reports in Spain claim Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all keen as well.

Griezmann’s current contract expires in 2020, and he is already being labelled as a potential replacement for Eden Hazard.
