According to reports, Chelsea are on the brink of signing FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez after the player’s agent travelled to England to discuss terms ahead of a possible move.
It is thought that the deal will roughly cost The Blues £33million in total for the 27-year-old, but that is a price Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich are prepared to pay as they continue the hunt of finding a world-class striker.
In previous seasons, Martinez has been linked with a move to the Premier League, but it has been Liverpool and Tottenham battling it out for his signature, however it now seems that Stamford Bridge is his likely destination.
The Colombian has an impressive goal-ratio for Porto so far, netting 34 goals in just 40 appearances.
