Thibaut Courtois

Didn’t have anything at all to do in the opening 45 minutes. Everton failed to test him after the break with the Belgian not wearing a cap when facing the sun. 5

Cesar Azpilicueta

Called into action early on to produce a fine block to stop Gylfi Sigurdsson testing Courtois. Very quiet from there on with Everton barely attacking. 5

Andreas Christensen

Extremely quiet in the first half but almost cost his side dearly when Dominic Calvert-Lewin won the ball off him on the touchline. Thankfully it came to nothing. Defended well when the hosts mustered an attack. 5

Antonio Rudiger

Displayed his range of long passing early on with sublime left-footed pass to Victor Moses on the opposite flank. Quiet game just like his fellow defenders. 5

Victor Moses

Put in a number of dangerous crosses in the first half but no player could get on the end of them. Given a lot of time and space down the right throughout the game. His cross was almost put into his own net by Ashley Williams late on. 6

N’Golo Kante

A hive of activity in the middle of the park, but he will want to forget about his effort on goal in the 14th minute that nearly went for a throw. 6

Tiemoue Bakayoko

Slowly starting to recapture the form that saw the Blues splash out big money on the Frenchman. Wayward passing at times in key areas but he read the play well to tee up Pedro in the first half. Broke up play well numerous times after the break. He’s certainly improving. 6

Marcos Alonso

Given so much joy down the left during the first-half and linked well with Pedro. Had a low effort blocked by Williams after the break. 7

Pedro

Kept buzzing about to cause Everton a number of problems with his movement. Unlucky not to score with Jordan Pickford producing sublime saves in both halves. 6

Willian

Probably still wondering how he didn’t give Chelsea an early lead following a superb block on the line by Phil Jagielka. Things just didn’t come off for the Brazilian in the final third today with Everton defending well. 5

Eden Hazard

Caused the Everton defence a number of problems with his quick feet and pace. Michael Keane won’t want to play against him again. 7

Substitutes

Cesc Fabregas (Pedro 63)

Brought on to help the Blues find a winner. 5

Michy Batshuayi (Willian 70)

Introduced in the final 20 minutes with the Blues needing to find a winner. No chances for the Belgian. 5

Davide Zappacosta (Moses 81)

No impact from the summer signing. 5
