Chelsea are reportedly eyeing Sunderland centre-back Lamine Kone and Santos defensive midfielder Thiago Maia in a deal that will cost them £32m, according to the Daily Mail.
Antonio Conte is said to be still searching for that perfect backline before the end of the summer but has so had no luck in attempts to sign his top target Kalidou Koulibaly with their recent £38m bid rejected by Naploli.
But it seems more trouble are about to come the Blues way as they will face competition for Lamine Kone’s signature as reports claim that Everton Football Club have already submitted an £18m offer for the 27-year-old Ivory Coast International.
However, if Chelsea are successful in there bid for Kone, he could be part of a double swoop as the Daily Mail claim that the Italian is also eyeing a £15m move for Santos defensive midfielder Thiago Maia.
The Blues have already bought over N’Golo Kante to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City and with Nemanja Matic being strongly linked with a move away this summer Conte will looking to strengthen his midfield options, and Maia could be the missing link.
