Chelsea have reportedly prepared a huge bid for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Lazio’s asking price for the Serb is £134 million. According to Lazio owner and chairman Claudio Lolito, a bidding war could occur. The likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester City are keen to sign the 23-year old.
Milinkovic-Savic’s father, former footballer Nikola Milinkovic wants him to go to Juventus. Milinkovic said, “I’ve told him many times that Juventus would be perfect for him, the ideal club. In Turin there is a prestigious club with multiple trophies that has been dominating the scene for years. He’d have the opportunity to grow and improve until reaching full maturity. After three seasons in Rome, Sergej knows the Italian championship perfectly, he has settled and integrated in a big way, he has learned the language well. With top quality teammates like Paulo Dybala, Douglas Costa and so forth, he could win the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and why not give an important contribution to triumph in the Champions League?”
“Juve always go far in that competition and if they were to win the most prestigious trophy, Sergej could even dream of the Ballon d’Or. It’s true, but he could go to Spain after he turns 25, when he has completed his football maturity in Italy. That’s what Zinedine Zidane did.”
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic had a brilliant 2017-18 season with Lazio. He scored 14 goals and provided 9 assists in 48 matches across all competitions.
