Chelsea are apparently preparing a bid for Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy this summer.
While Mendy has been earning rave reviews for his performance with the Ligue 1 leaders this season I don’t think somehow Antonio Conte is keen to take him to Stamford Bridge next season, despite what the Daily Mirror are reporting.
The French international is valued at around £25million and you could plead the case that he would provide instant competition for Marcos Alonso in the Italian’s 3-4-3 formation.
However, this story seems made up, the media is constantly linking players with Chelsea in a negative way, today is no different.
