Chelsea have reportedly cancelled Christian Atsu’s loan move to Everton over concerns regarding his playing-time at Goodison Park.

Roberto Martinez’s men were one of 10 teams interested in signing the Ghana international, and after appearing to close in on the deal, Jose Mourinho has cancelled the deal due to concerns over playing time.

Everton, who have just signed Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea for ÂŁ28million, were ready to wrap up the deal, but according to reports, they tried to change Atsu’s role at the club, which did not go down well with Chelsea, who want to see him playing regular football in order to improve and develop.

Chelsea paid ÂŁ5million for Atsu back in 2013, but he has yet to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge.
