Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has put together a three-man wishlist for a new central midfielder, and after agreeing a £40m deal for defender David Luiz to go to Paris Saint-Germain, funds will be available for the Portuguese to spend big.

Mourinho is desperate to strengthen his side this Summer after falling short in all competitions this year, and despite a striker being his number-one priority, he is also keen on adding a strong, midfielder to his ranks as well.

Throughout the season, The Blues boss frequently used Luiz as a central defensive midfielder, but now closing in on a move to France, Mourinho is keen to replace the Brazilian and he has three men in mind.

Atletico Madrid’s Koke, Tottenham Hotspur’s Paulinho and Juventus’ Paul Pogba are the three men that Mourinho is considering, and is willing to pay up to and over £30million for any of them.

It was reported earlier this season that the Spurs midfielder had already completed a shock move to Stamford Bridge, but he later dismissed those reports, suggesting that he is ready to work hard for the new manager at White Hart Lane.

As for the overseas midfielders, they are both reportedly happy at their current clubs, so Mourinho may have a challenge in trying to lure them to England.
