According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri, Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle to sign Romelu Lukaku

Palmeri is a well known transfer guru who has worked for a quite a few media outlets, so if this turns out to be fake news, you know who to blame.

Express Sport claim Lukaku is a legit target for Chelsea, and Manchester United want the striker as well.

Other reports are saying Everton told Chelsea they want cash AND a player for Lukaku.

However, Palmeri, who has a fan following of 142,000 Twitter followers on his verified account, (for some reason reports pointed that out, probably to add credibility to the story) has said the deal is already in motion.

He tweeted out saying: “Chelsea have reached an agreement on principles with Lukaku. Still under negotiations the fee with Everton.”

Palmeri was then asked if Chelsea will pay the £100m to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge.

He replied: “Don’t think so. Doesn’t look like an easy negotiation. Lukaku though could force it.”

So we’ll see what happens.
