The Blue are unwilling to pay the €68m (£60m) asking price for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez

Chelsea are looking to add more options to the attacking midfield ranks ahead of a Champions League campaign next season.

According to the Daily Star, Chelsea, along with Premier League rivals Manchester United and Ligue 1 giants PSG, have lodged a bid to sign Rodriguez this summer.

However, OK Diario claim that there’s an agreement in place between United and Rodriguez over financial terms, however, United, along with Chelsea and PSG, are unwilling to meet that £60m valuation.

The report also says that James preferred destination is Manchester United, but other reports claim he is open to listening to offers out of Stamford Bridge

The Colombian is apparently frustrated with his lack of game time at the Bernabeu and wants to leave the club in order to rediscover his best form ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
