Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is prepared to listen to offers for Brazilian centre-back David Luiz in the Summer in order to raise funds for a striker, most likely Atletico Madrid’s Diego Costa.

The Blues defender has falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge due to the developing partnership between Gary Cahill and John Terry, and after being replaced at half-time against Crystal Palace, it appears that Mourinho is finally willing to sell up and cash-in.

Luiz cost the club roughly ÂŁ26million when they signed him from Benfica a couple of years ago and it’s now believed that  they are ready to sell him to raise funds for a new striker, which according to reports is most likely going to be Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid.

Mourinho has questioned his current striker’s all season and a world-class finisher is expected to arrive in the Summer and they are now ready to sell their big-names in order to raise funds for that forward.

Last Summer the Chelsea boss admitted the the Financial Fair Play rule meant they couldn’t splash out on either Radamel Falcao or Edinson Cavani, but the Portuguese-man is now ready to sell big on order to sign big.

Luiz has previously been linked with Spanish giants FC Barcelona as they are keen to find a replacement for Carles Puyol.
