Blues agree ÂŁ6.2million deal with Boca Juniors

Chelsea have reportedly agreed a transfer deal with Boca Juniors for striker Jonathan Calleri.

The Blues are expected to be very busy in the January transfer window, with a striker top of Jose Mourinho‘s wish-list, and it looks like he’s already secured a deal.

Calleri has netted 21 goals so far this season for the Argentine outfit, assisting a further 11, which has attracted interest from Europe, in particular from the Premier League champions.

Deal Agreed

The 22-year-old is expected to leave Boca in the New Year, and according to L’Equipe, Chelsea have agreed to pay ÂŁ6.2m for his services.

According to the same report, the English champions will then immediately loan out Calleri so that he can get used to football in Europe.

However, with Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy failing to take their chances, the 22-year-old could be thrown straight in at the deep end as understudy to Diego Costa.

Mourinho could still decide to sign a recognised, experienced striker as well as Calleri, but it’s this deal that looks likely to be announced first.
