Chelsea sign Premier League star
Chelsea have signed Everton midfielder Ross Barkley for £15m, following a medical at Stamford Bridge.
The 24-year-old had rejected a new deal with Everton and was set to be out of contract after the end of the season. Barkley had, in August, turned down a move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day.
Having suffered a hamstring injury, Barkley did not play a single fixture this season but is known to be close to match fitness after recovering from the injury sustained during training.
After 13 years at Everton, where he joined at the age of 11, the Academy product is making a move, having collected 150 appearances for the club and scoring 21 goals.
After having represented England in the 2014 World Cup (he has 22 national caps), Barkley was handed a new four-year deal by the club.
Last summer, Barkley was also the target of Tottenham Hotspur, but a potential deal did not materialise after Mauricio Pochettino left his pursuit and started scanning other potentials instead.
