According sensational reports from the sun, David Luiz is set to be axed for Chelsea’s biggest game of the season.

The speculation comes from Antonio Conte training with Andreas Christensen in a back three on the eve of today’s huge clash with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

The report also claims there has been tension between Conte and Luiz this week, although Chelsea insist there has been no major bust-up.

The Italian manager was livid with his side’s performance against Roma in the Champions League, with Luiz given a particular dressing down during an ‘angry inquest’. And now The Sun say Conte is so furious with the Brazilian defender he will omit him entirely from his squad to face United, with Andreas Christensen expected to take his place.

According to the report, there has been noticeable tension between Conte and Luiz all week following the Roma fallout, though Chelsea have tried to play it down and insist no bust-up took place.

The Sun’s report claims Luiz fears for his place against United, while Conte is fully aware that dropping one of owner Roman Abramovich’s favourite players could have disastrous consequences if it backfires.
