- Match Analysis
Chelsea defender David Luiz is convinced that he has no future under Blues manager Antonio Conte and will seek a move away from the club.
Luiz’s fall out with Conte has dominated the sports pages in recent weeks, and although the Brazilian has worked his way back into the first team fold his long term future looks uncertain.
It all started after Chelsea’s 3-0 loss to Roma at the end of October. By all accounts, Luiz questioned his boss’ tactics during the defeat, which the Italian did not take too kindly too.
The 30 year-old defender was subsequently left out of the squad for their next match against Manchester United, although he did feature in the recent Champions League match against Qarabag.
Conte now says that Luiz is injured due to having liquid in his knee, but the Brazilian was seen training at Cobham recently contrary to those claims.
Reports now say that the former PSG man is resigned to his fate at Chelsea, and will seek a January exit due to irreconcilable differences with his manager.
We saw a similar situation in the summer with Diego Costa, who finally got his move back to Atletico Madrid after being told by Conte that he wasn’t in his plans for this season.
Real Madrid appear to have shown the most serious interest in Luiz, with the Blues already said to be looking at replacements. However, the form of replacement Andreas Christensen could see him keep his place in the first team.
