Chelsea star offers himself to Barcelona
After his high profile fall out with manager Antonio Conte, defender David Luiz now looks to be heading for the Chelsea exit door with a number of teams interested.
One potential suitor is Barcelona, who are looking for defensive reinforcements as they prepare to let former Arsenal centre-back Thomas Vermaelen leave the club.
Luiz would be keen on a move to the Camp Nou, say Diario Gol. His future at Chelsea is uncertain after Conte dropped him for the Manchester United match last week.
“It’s better to be in Barcelona than to be a substitute in London,” sources close to Luiz told the Spanish outlet.
Reports say that the Brazilian defender questioned Conte’s tactics after the 3-0 Champions League defeat to Roma last week, which the Italian tactician did not take too kindly too.
Chelsea are also rumoured to already be looking at replacements for Luiz as they prepare to offload him in the January transfer window.
The 30 year-old has enjoyed two spells at Stamford Bridge and was a standout player in their Premier League win last season, but has not always convinced everybody and it now looks as if Conte is ready to let him go.
