On-loan Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin could be set to leave the club permanently after admitting that he would love to stay on at Sevilla for the long-term future.

The German international was signed by Chelsea back in 2012 from Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen, but after being told by Jose Mourinho that he wasn’t going to be in his plans, he secured a loan-move away just a year later.

The 24-year-old has injured his time in Spain and has helped Sevilla climb to seventh in La Liga, and in a recent interview, he admitted that if the club want him, he would happily stay on and sign for them permanently.

“If both Sevilla and me are happy to stay I can stay here forever,” Marin told Estadio Deportivo.

“We’ll see what happens in the summer. The first is to play, being fit and helping the team in the end of the season and then we will decide.

“If the fans want, Monchi (the sporting director) wants and the coach wants, why not?” Marin added.

“But the most important thing is to be fit and play.

“Speaking about a permanent move before that is not worthy because I can’t help the team if I do not play.”
