Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda is on the verge of signing for Scottish club Celtic on loan for 18 months according to reports.

Chelsea youngster is set to join Celtic on loan for 18 months according to The Herald.

Musonda was an unused sub in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Newcastle in the FA Cup which has fueled speculation. Furthermore, Musonda even ‘liked’ an Instagram post recently linking him to the Scottish club.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been desperate to add more attacking quality to his team ahead of their Europa League tie next month against Zenit St Petersburg.

The report states that the 21-year-old Belgian is expected to complete his medical today and could even make his debut for the club on their Tuesday night game against Hearts.

The young Belgian is a promising player for Chelsea and it’s thought the move to Celtic will help develop his skills even more. It’s thought that Chelsea were eager to loan Musonda to a British club this time around to make him well adapted to English football when he comes back from loan. However, it seems the board have made a compromise by sending him on loan to the Scottish club instead of an English club.

Musonda joined Chelsea from Anderlecht at 17-years-old where he has gone on to play for various clubs on loan.

Last season, Musonda was loaned out to Spanish club Real Betis and it seems Conte saw enough of him to keep him for the first half of this season at Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are being linked with signing Roma pair Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri while also sounding out the possibility of signing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.  Talks for Dzeko are said to have crumbled and Chelsea are looking at alternative targets.
