Roman Abramovich not yet decided on Antonio Conte?

Chelsea owner Diego Simeone is still meeting up with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, despite reports confirming that Antonio Conte is set to take over at Stamford Bridge.

It’s widely reported that the Italian head-coach will replace Guus Hiddink at the end of the season, returning to club management after his break away with the Italy national team.

However, according to reports, that hasn’t stopped Abramovich from holding meetings with Simeone, who was believed to be his top target initially.

Simeone Talks

Despite Conte having agreed a deal in principle, the Blues owner is still having regular conversations with the Atletico manager and has still sparked speculation about the hot-seat at Stamford Bridge.

According to reports in Italy, the Chelsea owner flew to Holland last night to watch Simeone’s Atletico take on PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, and he reportedly held talks with him after the game.

However, the story still claims that Conte is in ‘pole position’ to get the job, but there are still talks ongoing between Abramovich and Simeone.
