Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko underwent knee surgery at the end of last season and could miss start of the season.
According to the ibtimes, Chelsea are preparing to secure the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko this week, however, The France international is expected to miss the start of the season.
Bakayoko has been working alone in order to improve his fitness however he is some way behind his new teammates who returned to pre-season training on Monday [10 July].
Sky Sports News HQ understands the 22-year-old will have a medical later this week ahead of his move to the Premier League champions, but there are major concerns that the knee surgery he underwent at the end of last season will delay the launch of his career at Stamford Bridge.
The deal had been slightly delayed as Bakayoko has been recovering from minor knee surgery that he underwent at the end of last season.
Reports say his arrival at Stamford Bridge could pave the way for Nemanja Matic to leave the club.
