Premier League side Chelsea are ready to bid up to £20million in order to sign Southampton starlet Luke Shaw, after the left-back has been impressing with his recent form in the league.
The Saints defender is yet another prospect that has come out of the Southampton youth academy, following the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
Jose Mourinho’s side have shown interest in Shaw over the last few months as they look for a permanent replacement for Ashley Cole, and it is believed that they are ready to make a hefty bid for the Englishman in January.
However, Saints chairman, Nicola Cortese, is not prepared to listen to any offers at all for the full-back and will reject any approach that is made.
If Chelsea are able to sign Shaw, that will pave the way for Ryan Bertrand to leave the club, and The Blues may use their current left-back as an exchange for Shaw.
