Chelsea to hand Cahill new deal

Chelsea are set to offer central defender Gary Cahill a new and improved deal at the club, according to the Daily Express.

Cahill, aged 28 is to be offered the contract in the coming days, after another fine season at Chelsea.

The defender, who has flourished under Jose Mourinho, has three years to run on his current deal, however, Chelsea are keen to tie him down for an extra year for his services.

Cahill signed for Chelsea from Bolton Wanderers for a ÂŁ7 million fee in the January of 2012.

He has made 64 appearances for the club, scoring four goals in two and a half years at Stamford Bridge.
