Chelsea are nearer to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson and hijack Liverpool’s move.

Chelsea are very keen to hijack Liverpool’s £62 million deal by paying  £70 millin for the goalkeeper.

According to reports from Mirror, the Blues have made a team to be sent to Roma to negotiate the deal with Serie A side.

There were reports that the Brazilian goalkeeper will be signed by Liverpool because of a report from Gazzetta dello Sports, said that the Reds were in pole position to sign the goalkeeper. However their first bid of £62 million was rejected by the Italian side. AS Roma wants something between €75 million (£66 million/$88 million) and €80 million (£70 million/$93 million).

Alisson in his initial days was a part of Brazilian club, Internacional for 4 years and represented the side in 115 games.

He was then signed by AS Roma in the year 2016. However the fee was undisclosed by the Italian side. He spent his majority of the season as understudy to Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczensy. He made only 15 appearances for the side in his first season, but soon after Szczensy departure to Juventus, Alisson was made the front line goalkeeper for the side. He represented the side in 49 games and across all tournaments including UEFA Champions league.

The Goalkeeper has been one of the premier goalkeeper last season across Europe and has been linked to clubs like Napoli and Juventus as well. The goalkeeper was also a part of the Brazilian squad that lost in the Quarter-final of the World cup in a 2-1 loss against Belgium.
