After a fairly decent career and a nice trophy cabinet to match, Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has had something of a bad run since he joined the Red Devils a year ago.
He first joined in October 2014 to train with Louis van Gaal’s squad and signed an 18 month deal in January.
However, he soon fell out with the United boss and now there appears no way back for him at his current club.
Now reports indicate that Chelsea Football Club are interested as the out of form keeper looks for another club in January.
Victor Valdes to leave Manchester United in January
Valdes agent has ruled out a Spain return as Chelsea and Newcastle are monitoring the keeper
His agent confirmed:
‘He won’t be coming to Spain, unless he decides otherwise.
‘It is obvious he must leave in January, and we are looking to find a move that he likes.’
The Spaniard did have the chance to join Valencia in the summer but rejected any offer.
He could however, turn out to be a good addition for Chelsea. With Thibaut Courtois now out long-term and Asmir Begovic still finding his feet at the club, Chelsea’s options are running thin.
