Chelsea Football Club are set to offer Jose Mourinho a new four-year deal despite their early exit from the Champions League.

The Blues fell to a shock defeat on away goals to Paris Saint-Germain after drawing 2-2 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, and after being heavily tipped to win the competition, the elimination came as a shock to the West London outfit.

Mourinho, who returned to Chelsea back in 2013, signed a four-year deal after agreeing to come back, but now according to a source close to the club, a new four-year deal maybe put on the table for the Portuguese.

Chelsea are closing in on a Premier League trophy as they look to edge out rivals, Manchester City, and the club want to reward Mourinho for a fine season, which has also seen them lift the Capital One Cup after defeating Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

As well as positive results on the pitch, Mourinho has had a positive influence off the pitch as well by selling players for high profits which is keeping the club in line with the Financial Fair Play rules.

It’s believed the contract will be signed by the end of the season.
