The attacking midfielder wants to commit to the Blues

According to reports, Chelsea are set to offer Willian a new £100,000-a-week contract extension to fight off interest from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian international playmaker is a rumoured target for the two European giants, but it is believed that Willian, who is already contracted with the Blues until 2018, will earn up to £5.2 million if he agrees to the extended deal.

Talks are apparently underway between the 27-year old and Chelsea about putting pen-to-paper, as they look to tie him up long-term.

Chelsea want to keep Willian as they fear that Eden Hazard will leave for Real Madrid in the very near future, potentially in the next summer transfer window.

The La Liga side have highlighted Hazard as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is linked with a return to his former club Manchester United; as well having interest from PSG and some unnamed Major League Soccer franchises.

‘Becoming a key player is an obligation’

It looks as if Willian’s future will be at Stamford Bridge because in a recent interview he admitted he wants to recognised as a Chelsea legend, alongside the likes of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.

He said: “My hope is to carry on working the same way I am doing right now, and maybe in the future I would like to be recognised by the Chelsea supporters as one of those leaders.

Becoming a key player is an obligation for me. I am at a stage in my career, 27, where you can reach the peak. The best time for players should be between 27 and 30.”
