Chelsea to play at Twickenham?

Chelsea Football Club have opened talks with the Rugby Football Union regarding a potential move to Twickenham whilst Stamford Bridge gets redeveloped.

The West London club announced in the Summer that they were looking into developing Stamford Bridge and expanding on it so that they could challenge the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United for attendance figures, and it’s believed they will expand it from 42,000 to 60,000, making it equal to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

The RFU have confirmed that they have held initial talks with a football club about the possibility of using Twickenham for their home games and with the capacity around 82,000, it’s believed the extended ground will bring in almost double match-day figures for Chelsea.

Wembley is another option for The Blues, but Tottenham Hotspur are also looking for a temporary stadium to play in whilst they build a new one, and Wembley is also on their list as potential grounds.
