Left-back will fly to England next week
Chelsea Football Club will sign left-back Abdul Rahman Baba early next week, according to reports.
The Blues are in the market for a new full-back after Jose Mourinho confirmed Filipe Luis would be leaving the club after just one season in England.
The Brazilian failed to impress during his debut season after leaving Atletico Madrid, and spent most of the title-winning campaign on the bench.
Mourinho admitted that Luis is free to leave and a move back to Spain is on the brink of being completed, and Chelsea are now in the market to find a replacement.
However, according to reports they have already found their man.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, Mourinho will meet up with Bundesliga side Augsburg on Monday in order to finalise a deal for the Ghanaian.
It’s believed the 21-year-old will sign a five-year deal worth around £27k-a-week.
Despite the interest and the deal being close, Augsburg chairman Jonas Hoffman stated that the club don’t need to sell if they don’t want to.
Club Don’t Have To Sell
“We have a good, solid team here.
“I am very optimistic that Baba will continue his great performances with us.”
However, it’s believed a £14million offer will convince the club to sell to the Premier League champions.
