Romelu Lukaku is the subject of ongoing negotiations between Napoli and Chelsea, and the two teams are also in contact regarding a deal for Victor Osimhen to leave the team. Any transfer for Lukaku is anticipated to be permanent, while the Osimhen negotiations are centred around a loan with a buyout option.
According to the present terms being discussed, Chelsea would not be required to buy Osimhen next summer, but the Blues would have the option to do so if they so desired. If the Lukaku transfer goes through, the 31-year-old striker and new Napoli head coach Antonio Conte will once again be together. At Inter Milan, they had previously collaborated for two seasons.
Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku Swap
Lukaku is wanted by Chelsea for £30 million, with the goal of a permanent sale after loan periods at Inter Milan and Roma. Napoli is hoping that a transfer of Osimhen, a highly sought-after striker from Nigeria, to Stamford Bridge could reduce Lukaku’s cost. Osimhen’s release clause is said to be worth more than £100 million, and the Italians are reportedly aware of the challenges in obtaining a permanent transfer.
According to Corriere dello Sport, in order to alleviate their respective striker shortages, Napoli and Chelsea have begun to explore the possibility of executing some sort of exchange deal involving Osimhen and Lukaku. Even though the preparations are still in the early stages, there is already a small issue because the Parthenopei star’s high salary would violate a new pay cap that the Blues have established.
