Ray Wilkins reckons Chelsea could cash in on David Luiz in the January transfer window

Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins has said the west London club could cash in on Luiz in the January transfer window and place their faith in young defender Christensen.

There have been reports of a falling out between the pair and Luiz has not featured for the Blues since 22 November, although he has also been struggling with a knee injury.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Wilkins said: “If Chelsea want to get some money for January, [they should] get rid of David Luiz and trust Andreas Christensen.”

Meanwhile, the Blues are currently preparing for their Premier League trip over to Everton on Saturday as they look to climb the table.
