Manchester United’s David De Gea is believed to be their no.1 target, but they will pursue the Chelsea stopper should they fail in a move for the Spaniard.
Courtois was praised for his performances whilst on loan at Atletico Madrid – he spent three seasons as their main shot-stopper.
The former Genk keeper played a hugely important role in a season where Chelsea lifted the Premier League and League Cup.
Cech off to Turkey
Chelsea’s former no.1, Petr Cech, has insisted he will not be Courtois’ understudy and his agent recently hinted about a move to Turkey, with Besiktas rumoured to be interested.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also believed to be keen on signing the experienced goalkeeper but Mourinho would prefer Cech to move to Besiktas instead of a Premier League rival.
