Blues boss expects defender to be signed
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he expects a new left-back to be signed after Filipe Luis left the club to join Atletico Madrid.
The Brazilian failed to impress during his debut season in England, and he chose to rejoin Atletico earlier this summer, leaving Chelsea with just one recognised left-back in Cesar Azpilicueta.
The Blues has been strongly linked with Baba Rahman from Augsburg, and it’s likely that he will be the left-back that arrives at Stamford Bridge, but they’ve also been linked with Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur and Alex Telles from Galatasaray.
Personal Terms Agreed
However, according to Rahman‘s agent, the Augsburg defender has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions and is just waiting for a transfer fee to be agreed.
He told German newspaper Bild: “It is only the clubs that have to find an agreement. We on our side are agreed.”
Mourinho Expects Left-Back
As for Mourinho, he has confirmed that he expects the club to land a left-back before the transfer window shuts.
Mourinho said: “We need a left-back, the board know that and my feeling is that we are going to have one.”
