Chelsea wonderkid goes out on loan

Putting an end to all rumours, Chelsea’s midfielder Charly Musonda has joined officially Celtic on loan.

The 21-year-old had joined Chelsea in 2012 from Anderlecht, and had signed a loan extension in 2015.

He has previously been on loan spells to Real Betis, and was able to break into the Chelsea first team this season, netting one goal in seven games.

Brendan Rodgers labels former Chelsea defender ‘ignorant’ and ‘lacking football knowledge’

Brendan Rodgers expressed his delight at the ‘big talent’: “It’s a really exciting prospect for the club,” said Rodgers. “Charly is a big talent I’ve known for a few years now. He’s really one of the shining lights within the Chelsea academy and has progressed through, had various loans out and has then been a part of their first-team squad. I think there was up to 24 clubs interested in taking Charly so for him to want to come here and Chelsea to happily want him to come then it’s a great coup for us as a football club.”
