According to reports, Leicester City have rejected Chelsea’s £30m bid for Danny Drinkwater.

The Blues had lodged a bid for the Everton star, however, reports today claim a bid has now in fact been rejected.

Antonio Conte is keen to add to more depth to his squad before the transfer window closes and is said to be a big admirer of Drinkwater, having reportedly already had one bid of £15m rejected.

The there’s the Daily Mail that say Chelsea formally lodged a £30m bid for the 27-year-old but, during talks last Friday, Leicester told the Premier League champions they want at least £10m more.

Drinkwater, will miss tonight’s Carabao Cup game at Sheffield United with a thigh injury and has yet to feature for City this season.

At a press conference ahead of the trip to Bramall Lane, Shakespeare would not confirm whether or not Leicester had received an offer for Drinkwater.

“I’ve read the speculation the same as you but until we get the bids accepted, there’s no difference for me,” he said.

“We carry on with them. All the time we’re talking about the speculation. We’ll carry on as normal until I’m told otherwise.”

So not sure what the Daily Mail is on about really.
