Chelsea identify Conte’s replacement

According to a report in the Daily Record, Carlo Ancelotti will be appointed Chelsea’s new manager before the next season commences.

The report states that talks with Roman Abramovich are in advanced stages, and the 58-year-old is almost certain to take over the reins at Old Trafford.

Ancelotti was linked with a move to PSG earlier, but the new reports seem to be taking him to Chelsea.

Transfers have been a focal point of friction between Abramovich and the club, with Italian has clashing with the boardroom on a number of occasions regarding the same. His original three-year deal expires in the summer of 2019.

“Ancelotti will not be returning to PSG because he will be moving back to London in February. And there he will be waiting to replace Conte at Chelsea. He has been spoken to by Chelsea with regards to succeeding Conte, who everyone at the club believes will not be at the club beyond the end of this season”, Ian Gerry said in Daily Record’s Transfer Podcast.
