Leicester City manager Claude Puel said he has tricks under his sleeve to get the better of Manchester City when the two sides face each other in the quarter final of the Carabao Cup.

Leicester defeated Southampton on penalties after the game remained 0-0 after fulltime. The Saints found the net once through substitute Steven Davis but later VAR disallowed the goal pointing out to a Nathan Redmond handball in the buildup of the goal.

Manolo Gabbiadini missed his spot kick and Nampalys Mendy coolly slotted home to send his side into the quarters. The Foxes are set to brace for a tough test as Pep Guardiola’s side is likely to impose a big threat on them.

Puel said, “We lost against Manchester City last season on penalties and it was very difficult for the team.

“We hope it can be different this time but it will be a tough game against Manchester City. To get through is fantastic for the team and I hope we can continue.

“The most important thing is to play the game with intensity and quality. It is a fantastic feeling for the squad to continue this journey in this competition.

“I am happy for all of my squad, all of the players because we can continue this journey.

We can give game time for all of the players and for the feeling and mentality in the squad, it is very well.”
