Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has admitted that keeping clean-sheets is his obsession.
The Gunners shot-stopper made a string of fine saves during the side’s 2-0 victory against Fenerbache on Tuesday night and went the whole two-legged tie without conceding a single goal.
However, in the Premier League, the Polish number-one has conceded four goals in just two games and he has admitted that he is annoyed when he concedes.
“I’m very happy,” he said. “It makes my job much easier when the defenders play like that. Hopefully we can get a few more clean sheets in the Premier League because we’ve not kept one yet. It’s a little bit of an obsession for me so hopefully we can improve on that.
“I don’t like to concede. The one against Fulham does my head in.
“I’m doing alright. We managed to keep a clean sheet twice out of the last three games. Hopefully we can still improve but I’m kind of satisfied.
“We just want to give the fans something to cheer about and make sure we get three points [on Sunday].
“We know how important this game is. Not only for the three points but for the mood around the Club. We’ll make sure we do the job properly like we did today and in the last couple of games. Hopefully that will give us the result.”
