Former Blues favourite Michael Essien has officially joined Indonesian club Persib Bandung for the next season.
Essien has been without a club since leaving previous Greek side Panathinaikos and has now decided to make a surprise switch to Indonesia.
The 34-year-old will apparently take home around £700,000 for the year,
This will make him the highest paid player in the country’s Liga 1.
There is also an option in there to extend his contract for another if it goes well for him next season.
Essien cemented himself as a Chelsea legend during his nine years at Stamford Bridge, during that time he racked up 257 appearances and won two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, one League Cup and a Champions League.
