The incoming Blues boss wants to convince the keeper to stay at Stamford Bridge

Antonio Conte is set to have talks with Thibaut Courtois to try and convince him to stay at Chelsea this summer.

The Blues number one is a target for Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants desperate to try and sign a goalkeeper during the transfer window. They believe Courtois would be a good fit and are eager to try and complete a deal for him.

Antonio Conte – who will take over at Chelsea after the Euros – is believed to be aware of the interest surrounding the Belgium international and will hold talks with the player to try and convince him to stay at Stamford Bridge.

It won’t be easy though – the keeper is believed to be rather keen on a return to Spain, with the shot-stopper impressing during his last stint in La Liga at Atletico Madrid.

After a rather poor season for Chelsea compared to their usual standards, Courtois might have decided it’s time for him to leave.

Chelsea will ask for ÂŁ50m

However, the Blues won’t let him go without a fight – Chelsea will demand at least ÂŁ50m for the goalkeeper from Real Madrid and no less, in a bid to put them off making a move for him.

In addition, Conte is confident that once he has held talks with the Belgian, then he will commit his future to the club.

As of yet, Madrid have yet to make an official move for Courtois but it is well-known that the interest is there.

However, the Blues’ stopper is only one of the Spanish sides goalkeeping targets, as they are believed to still be keeping tabs on David De Gea and could yet make a move for him instead.

This year, Courtois has featured 22 times for Chelsea in the league, keeping five clean sheets and he remains their first-choice goalkeeper.
