According to reports the Blues are set to tell John Obi Mikel that this will be his last season at Stamford Bridge
They don’t intend on offering him a new deal the report states.
The 29-year-old has been at Stamford Bridge for 10 years after joining from Lyn Oslo in 2006.
However, he hasn’t yet played a game for Chelsea so far this season and it seems clear Antonio Conte’s has no future plans for him and the Evening Standard report that he will be told that he will be allowed to leave when his current deal expires, which is next summer.
With N’Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic and Nathaniel Chalobah in the squad it has been difficult for Mikel to get a call up.
Mikel has 378 appearances for the club, and has won 10 major trophies during his spell at Stamford Bridge, he’s a fan favourite and Blues supporters will miss him.
According to the report, he could have offers from Marseille, MLS, and the Chinese Super League lined up in the summer.
