The defender is set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has stated that John Terry hasn’t been affected by the fact he will not be offered a new one-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The former England international will be free to speak to other clubs in the summer, bringing to an end his long-term stay with the Blues.

However, Hiddink has insisted that Terry has remained positive and is fully focussed on the rest of the West London club’s campaign.

Despite this the majority of Chelsea are fans are still disappointed with the hierarchy for not offering the 35-year old a new contract, as Terry had made no secret of his desire to retire at the current Premier League champions.

‘he is having a laugh’

“I haven’t noticed any change because first of all he is a very experienced player,” said Hiddink.

“He has gone through good things and storms in football which means that he is very experienced, so you don’t notice a difference in John.”

“He likes to train and he is having a laugh so I don’t notice any differences,” added the Dutchman.

There are rumours circulating that Terry maybe offered new terms, but his stand-in boss was quick to tell the press that there has been no updates on that particular situation.
