Cristiano Ronaldo is in talks with Real Madrid over a new long-term contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, which would see him conclude his career at Los Blancos, according to reports in Spain, via the Daily Mirror.

The Portuguese international will soon be into the final two-years of his current contract in the Spanish capital, with  the media refuting claims in France that Ronaldo is set to move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, having reportedly met with Nasser El-Khelaifi, the president of the Parisian side.

Spanish sports daily, El Confidencial claim Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, is considering the two options concerning the future of the 31-year-old’s future at the club, whether to renew or sell the player they signed for ÂŁ80m from Manchester United in 2009 – given Ronaldo’s age, as well as his potential significance on a possible transfer fee.

The transfer ban imposed by UEFA, along with Ronaldo’s recent upturn in form, have made it difficult for the hierarchy at Madrid to justify parting ways with him this summer, despite the prolonged interest from PSG, who remain the only viable destination for Ronaldo, despite rumours of an emotional return to Old Trafford with United.

El Confidencial suggest that a two-year extension seems appropriate, while Radio station, Cadena COPE say that even a six-year deal would be on the cards, all but seeing Ronaldo retire as a Madrid player.
