Cristiano Ronaldo Plans On Playing Till He's 40

Cristiano Ronaldo is not pondering on his retirement as he aims to break further records.

The Juventus star won the Serie A in his first season in Italy and also scored 28 goals in all over 43 appearances. Even at 34, he seems as ambitious as he was at Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Ronaldo is unsure over when he will stop playing but believes it is not too far away. He told TVI on Tuesday, “I don’t think about that. Maybe I can leave my career next year … but I can also play up to 40 or 41. I don’t know. What I always say is to enjoy the moment. The gift is excellent and I have to continue to enjoy it.”

The Portuguese international has 5 Balon d’Or trophies in his glittered trophy cabinet, along with 5 Champions League trophies, 3 Premier League titles and 2 La Liga titles. People often enquire about when he will hang up his boots but Ronaldo almost always kills all rumours immediately. He asked during the interview, “Are there any soccer players who have more records than me? I don’t think there are any footballers who have more records than me.”

Of course, his professional nemesis, Lionel Messi could claim his 6th Balon d’Or trophy this year. Many believe it would be Virgil van Dijk due to the Dutchman’s superior win record with Liverpool than Messi.
