Real Madrid outcast, James Rodriguez is reportedly wanted at Juventus by his former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, according to former Bayern Munich player, Lothar Matthaus.
The Columbian playmaker spent the past two seasons in the Allianz Arena in Germany, on loan. It was Zinedine Zidane banished him to the Bundesliga after finding no spot for him in his Galacticos starting lineup.
Now, that the Frenchman is back to managing Real, Rodriguez has no choice but to look for a permanent home elsewhere. The grand stadium Turin is a likely possibility due to his relationship with world-renowned star and recently crowned United Nations League champion, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Matthaus revealed that he had a conversation with Rodriguez a short while back which hinted at him eventually moving to the Serie A. He said, “We had a conversation two weeks ago, during the celebration of Bayern’s Bundesliga win. I see him at Juventus.
“He is very close to Cristiano Ronaldo and told me that he was in contact with him and that he has told him that he wants to have him at Juventus.” Matthaus further added, “I understand why as James can serve Ronaldo so that he can score and the two of them can shine.”
Juventus could comply with Ronaldo’s requests as they plan on doing anything to keep the 5-time Balon d’Or winner happy.
