Eagles will try to sign Sakho

Crystal Palace are reportedly desperate to sign Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool before the window closes today.

The 26-year old has no future at Anfield and Liverpool are looking to get rid of him on a permanent deal after his relationship with Jurgen Klopp broke down completely in the summer.

Southampton were interested in a loan deal, but Liverpool were not interesting in loaning the player whatsoever.

There have been concerns over his attitude at the club, and he has not played for the first team since April 2016.

He has been playing with the under-23 squad to maintain fitness.

Palace are desperate to strengthen their squad before the end of the window to try and swerve relegation, and believe Sakho would be a worthwhile defensive addition.

They have also signed Patrick Van Aanholt from Sunderland, and made an enquiry for Brentford’s Scott Hogan to bolster their attack.
