Crystal Palace keen on signing former Real Madrid star

Crystal Palace are keen to avail the services of former Real Madrid keeper Diego Lopez.

Having opted for Julian Speroni or Wayne Hennessey ever since taking over from the sacked Frank de Boer, Roy Hodgson seems to be willing to poach the 36-year-old Lopez to solve his defensive problems.

Lopez was part of Real Madrid 2005 to 2007, and again from 2013-2014. In the middle, he plied his trade for Villarreal and Sevilla, and later Milan. He won the title with Madrid in 2007, and the Champions League in 2014.

AC Milan sent him to Espanyol on a season-long loan in August.

While Hodgson has been toggling between Speroni and Hennessey, neither have managed to impress the former England manager, who seems to have started a fresh search for the goalkeeper’s role at Selhurst Park.

In a dismal season thus far, the team has scored 10 and conceded as many as 27 goals.
