Crystal Palace are considering a January swoop for Chelsea legend Branislav Ivanovic, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 32-year-old’s current deal at Stamford Bridge is set to expire at the end of the campaign and talks about a potential extension seem non-existent for the Chelsea board.

Ivanovic joined the Blues back in 2008 and has been a key part of the furniture at the club ever since but this season he is out of favour under manager Antonio Conte.

The defender has not started a Premier League game since Conte switched to a three-man defence following a woeful 3-0 defeat at Arsenal at the end of September.

But the change in formation has seen Chelsea hit form and go on a four-game winning streak under the Italian chief’s new style of play.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew has been in talks with the Palace board over the availability of the Serbia international but they are now the only club after Ivanovic’s signature, with a few Chinese Super League sides closely monitoring his situation at Chelsea.
