A first-half header from former-Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh was enough to give Tony Pulis his first win in charge of Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Barry Bannan’s cross was converted by the Moroccan just before half-time and West Ham United failed to respond as The Eagles held on the a priceless victory.

BELOW YOU CAN READ SOME REACTION AFTER THE FINAL WHISTLE.

Crystal Palace goalscorer Marouane Chamakh:

“We stayed strong and didn’t give them the chances to score and I hope it will be like that every week until the end of the season.”

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis:

“In the first 20 minutes we were on the back foot, we didn’t start well and looked pretty nervous but then we got into the game and I’m very pleased for Marouane Chamakh, he has really worked hard. He and Cameron Jerome were a handful.”

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce speaking to BT Sport:

“We did not have enough cutting edge, that was the problem for us and having had no problems in the first half we were looking to try and probe and get on target in the first half. But we gave away the most ridiculous goal, from our point of view, that I’ve seen for a very long time.”
